Re: Does BILIC have JELAVIC ahead of CARROLL in the pecking order?
Thought it was a really good sub. Would have been easy to put Oxford on and sit deep but he still wanted us to be a threat, and we were when we had the chance.

Some people on WHO's negative reaction to Carroll compared to reception that he got when warming up and coming on last game really does show that WHO has a very "special" segment of West Ham fans.

This like many have said was the wrong game to bring him in to, a bit too soon.

Maybe bilic saw some clips of carrolls last performance there and just thought 'fuck that, anyone but him'

Re: Does Bilic have Jelavic ahead of Carroll in the pecking order?
as I said yesterday during the game, there is no way Carroll had the stamina to keep up with that game but for about 5 minutes. And we needed someone long before that. Nothing to do with a pecking order and everything to do with fitness.

Re: Does Bilic have Jelavic ahead of Carroll in the pecking order?
Carroll would have been a mistake to bring on just like Oxford we needed the fastest possible player to chase the ball and put a bit of pressure on defenders I think he will play a bigger role than people think this year and fit into this side quite well.

He fits in better when we get our holding midfielders back and have more strength down the middle. With 5 attacking midfielders on the pitch he is a bad fit. But if you have Song and Kouyate in the team and Payet pushed out wide I'd probably rather have big Andy up front than Sakho to start.

Unlike the previous incumbent, I think billic will play players to their strengths and look at what is needed in different situations.

So calm you had to mention something out of the blue after the multitude that is 5 games and before he's fit.

A bit of premature...celebration, maybe?

On the second point, as I have said many times on here, unlike most of WHO, I will happily admit I am wrong if that proves to be the case. My opinion of myself has very little to do with how right I am on WHO. The fact you brought this up again out of the blue might mean that is not quite the case for you.

Re: Does Bilic have Jelavic ahead of Carroll in the pecking order?
Shit thread. We were clearly blowing out of our arses and unable to hang onto the ball. Carroll isn't anywhere near match fit and looked fucking knackered after about a minute against Newcastle. Jelavic Is fitter and holds the ball up well so would offer more running and potentially keep the ball better when it was hoofed out of defence. Only a chump would read any more into it than that.

Oh it's WHO, chumptown.

Alex - sakho had the pace to get back and assist the full backs & jelavic got us a free kicks. Worked out well.

I thought it was because Carroll is just coming back from injury and bilic has the foresight not to rush him back in.

I'm as calm as anyone could possibly be.

Don't worry, it's not the last time you'll call something football related completely wrong.

OP

I dont think so, I thought it was a clever substitution and fitted the situation perfectly, Jelavic came on and was canny, bought a couple of fouls as opposed to giving them away.Good move by Bilic, Carroll will have his time in a different situation, both are mile behind Sakho.

Why didn't you create a thread on Monday asking if Bilic had Carroll ahead of Jelavic?

Completely tactical as we were winning. If we were losing he would've brought on Carrroll\\.

Re: Does Bilic have Jelavic ahead of Carroll in the pecking order?
Bilic probably thinks that there's no point rushing Carroll back.

Plus Jelavic deserves a chance to prove himself.
